Workshop 1 – Outdoor and Inclusion (Flashcards) 

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Analysis of the flashcards structure (children, educators, parents).

  • Analysis of children’s’ voice and teachers’ reflections.

  • Perform outdoor activities and paths with flashcards.

 

Workshop 2 – My Favorite Reflection Exercise 

 

Learning and Teaching Objectives:

  • Trying out some reflection exercises.

  • Researching of "what makes an exercise a favorite? (criteria).

  • Brainstorm around possible reflection exercises.

Workshop 3 – Outdoor Activities with Dinosaurs 

 

Teaching Objectives:

  • Understand how the outdoor context can be used for interdisciplinary activities with dinosaurs between science and mathematics.

Learning Objectives:

  • Distinguish between different dinosaur footprints. 

  • Using dinosaurs’ footprints to promote interdisciplinary learning activities with children. 

  • Use local geological heritage to promote learning activities. 

 

 

Workshop 4 – Orienteering for a Huge HangingOut 

 

Learning and Teaching Objectives:

 

  • Activity in which the child can explore unknown large open spaces, with the help of aerial photographs, or to know large open spaces, such as a play park, with the help of a drawing made by the child.

  • Allowing interdisciplinarity with several different activities, such as knowledge of nature, widening its space of (inter)action, cooperation and coping to achieve a goal, application of visual expression skills, exploration of the capacity for autonomy.

Workshop 5 – Children's View at the Environment

 

Learning and Teaching Objectives:

 

  • Discovering micro-interactions between children and the outdoor environment. 

  • Searching traces of young children's perspective on the outdoor environment that otherwise stay hidden or do not get attention at all.

  • Discussing how the video database can help teacher training students to discover the value and richness of outdoor play.
