The project includes 5 institutions within regions where the wine chain has strong economic, social and environmental impact. This thematic proximity between institutions, gives not only synergies to the consortium through knowledge located in viticulture, enology and sustainability, creating critical mass, but also enables complementarity in areas such as eco-physiology of the vine, irrigation management, efficient use of water, management of winery wastewaters, climate change scenarios and life cycle assessment. Thus, it is envisaged that the methodologies are laid together and applied to case studies.
The leadership of the activities is distributed among the partners according their specificities. A practice based project, where small groups of students (about 10) of different Polytechnics integrated in a line perspective, from TeSP to Masters, will be a priority of this study. Also the proximity to stakeholders is a strategy to promote synergies that foster the creation of knowledge, innovation and progression of this value chain.
